The Center for Tropical Forest Science (CTFS) of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (CTFS) coordinates, through a consortium of scientific collaborators and institutions around the world, a network of long-term research programs in the natural and social sciences.
The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is a key partner for the Asia plots housing the CTFS-AA Asia Program. This international group of researchers seeks to explain how tropical forests became so biodiverse, and conducts experiments to reveal how best to conserve forest habitat and restore degraded land in Africa, Asia and the Americas.
